Coffee at Tatams
16 August 2019
My main discipline here at DR is stills photography, but it's nice every now and again to take the time to experiment in a medium that isn't so familiar. So I took the opportunity to make a 30-second video about our favourite coffee spot, Tatams, in Portscatho. The early morning light was beautiful, the coffee was brewing and the smell of croissants baking was absolutely divine.
It was shot entirely on a little Canon G7x which I've found to be a powerful tool for video clips, the quality is fabulous. It takes a great RAW file as well so it makes for a mean piece of camera kit that fits in your pocket. Roughly edited together in iMovie, it came together pretty well for just a personal bit of work. I will be working to further develop simple video clips such as this and hopefully begin to incorporate it into what we can offer here at DR.

Of course, I did a patisserie edit as well.... why wouldn't I?
