Sailing expert and business owner Adam contacted us to develop a new identity for River Boatyard, a boatyard nestled in one of the Helford's prettiest spots, Gweek.
Adam was keen to make his beloved Firebird catamaran central to the design and so we sketched it out and simplified the shape to turn it into a vintage-inspired badge style logo.

To reference the boatyard's location we added in a few extra details such as the GPS co-ordinates and a Heron standing tall on the river bank. A colour palette of mossy greens and vibrant coral pink was chosen to reflect the colours found in and around the boatyard and the natural environment and most importantly to differentiate from other more nautical (blue and white) style brands.
Adding illustrative elements to the logo not only helps to gives the brand real individual flair but also the flexibility to be playful in future with different logo versions, layouts and colours - all whilst retaining a clearly recognisable visual identity.
